The film show that was held within the framework of the Days of Russian Cinema in Pafos from May 18 to 20, 2018, was organized by the Russian Center for Science and Culture with the support of the Russian-Cyprus Association, the Paphos City Hall and the Rusfilm Company.
Days of Russian cinema are aimed at an acquaintance of inhabitants and visitors of the city with the best works of Russian directors and novelties of modern Russian cinema.
The film festival was opened by the famous Soviet and Russian theater, cinema and television actress Yelena Yakovleva, who played more than 70 roles (where each of them is recognizable and loved by the audience), winner of numerous awards in the field of cinema and theater, including two national prizes “NIKA”, ” TEFI “and the” Golden Eagle “.
A fairy-tale comedy “The Last Bogatyr” produced by Disney in Russia and the studio Yellow, Black and White, directed by Dmitry Dyachenko, where Elena Yakovleva played the role of Baba-Yaga, was presented to the audience at the end of the creative meeting.
Showing an unusual karaoke comedy “The Best Day” of Russian director Zhora Kryzhovnikova was held on the second day of the event. The main roles in the film were performed by Dmitry Nagiyev, Mikhail Boyarsky, Inna Churikova, Elena Yakovleva and other eminent actors.
The international project “Profile” of Timur Bekmambetov in English became the worthy finale of the film festival, which won the audience prize at the American festival South by Southwest in Texas.
